We had the pleasure to work on all aspects of Kelli and Dan’s wedding stationery from Save the Date, to invitation, to on-the-day pieces like their menus. Their theme is simply a Mexican wedding that is colorful, playful, and high spirited – they have been more than generous with their trust in us to allow their stationery designs to evolve with their thinking at each step from digital flat design, to laser cut, to a loose, playful painterly style. Regardless of the medium used, we are happy to have reflected their wedding plans at each installment.
Kelli and Dan's Save the Date. A digital illustration that depicts a dynamic sacred heart, framed by Kelli's wedding flowers. We reached out to Natalie Adkins to design the Save the Date.We returned to Kelli and Dan's invitation with Laura Shema as illustrator and designer. Continuing the Mexican aesthetic with stark white paper cut outs in bold pomegranate envelopes.A close up showing off the deep cuts that make the invitation. We were so excited to be asked to work on Kelli and Dan's on-the-day stationery; table numbers, escort cards and menus. Because we had worked with them before the trust we had formed allowed us the freedom to explore and go for it aesthetically. These were just about having fun and creating a loose, care free, exuberant feel for their wedding day. We designed hand-painted, vibrant flowers and leaves. A hand-painted map of San Miguel for their guests to enjoy. Landmarks included are Templo de San Francisco, El Méson Hotel, Casa Hyder, Cafe San Agustin, Parroquia San Miguel Arcangel, and Rosewood San Miguel de AllendeA detail of the printed map.Original paintings of Parroquia and Cafe San Agustin.Cafe San AgustinCasa HyderRosewood San MiguelEl Méson Hotel and Templo de San Francisco.A close up of some extra hand painted foliage to capture the spirit.←→
