June 2017’s Projects

Andalusian save the dates, bold handpainted artwork for invitations, and a returning star client filled our time in June.

Andalusia sits at the southern tip of Spain facing the African continent and enjoys both European and African influences, forming a unique look and feel for its culture. Akemi & Matthew's save the date, for their Andalusian wedding, is just a glimpse of what's to come for guests attending their wedding.

The beautiful Boscobel House and Gardens are the venue for Christine & Kevin's nuptials this month. The location's rich history made the focus of their project the guest's experience while visiting from the farthest corners of the world to the Hudson Valley destination. We designed the custom map to tempt and excite their guests into making the most of the trip.

Sometimes big beautiful flowers are all you need to exemplify the personality of a project. Kori & Jai's invitation featured big, expressive blooms and contrasting, muted florals. That inky invitation background exploded the details into the foreground beautifully.

Katie & Adam wanted us to focus on the great outdoors in their save the date. Here's the finished gouache painting of the fox and hounds scene for their save the date.

Christina & Rhys commissioned us to produce their 28-page wedding program celebrating and commemorating their spectacular Jamaican-Welsh cultural coming together. This month we added to their project with foil printed — using the crest we designed for them — thank you cards with a mounted photograph from their wedding day. One of the finest projects with two of the finest people.

The last month of the year deserves a brief retrospective and if there’s one thing that sticks out to me about 2019, it’s the increasing demand for crests that depict the nuances of the combined personality of each couple + each wedding. I’m featuring a collection of standout crests from the past year.

Claire and Howard’s project was so versatile and fully fleshed out that I’m only publishing it now that the big day has come and gone. The aesthetic ranges from formal and elegant wedding day related pieces to the more playful, painterly gifts and accent pieces. It’s an extensive project that I’m proud to have in Read the rest.
